Tena Recommendation bundle of care

Managing toileting and continence containment care is an important task, both for the individual and also for those who look after persons with incontinence. The outcome of the delivered care is vital to ensure the quality of life and dignity for the persons with incontinence along with supporting those who are delivering the care.

To facilitate an easy way of working with toileting and containment care, an international group of experts have developed the care needs profiles.

The six care needs profiles are helpful in finding the right bundle of care for persons with incontinence and their caregivers. The driving factors in categorising functional incontinence are mobility, cognition and need for assistance in the process of using the toilet and having absorbent products changed. These are the basis for classification in the profiles, each visualising the ability of toileting in combination with use of absorbent products.
